A1: DELE A1 — Beginner

Eligibility: Completion of A1 or demonstrated equivalent proficiency

Duration: 60-80 hours

Overview:

At A2, you can communicate in familiar, routine situations and begin to describe your world. You are ready to hold basic conversations, talk about past and future events, and engage socially with Spanish speakers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe experiences, routines, and immediate surroundings
  • Communicate in simple exchanges about work, family, shopping, and travel
  • Talk about past events using preterite and imperfect tenses
  • Express future plans and simple wishes
  • Read and understand short texts, messages, and notices
  • Write simple personal letters and fill in forms
A2: DELE A2 — Elementary

Eligibility: Completion of A1 or demonstrated equivalent proficiency

Duration: 60-80 hours

B1 marks your independence in Spanish. You can manage real-life situations fluently, express opinions, deal with unexpected problems, and communicate with reasonable fluency on topics that matter to you.

  • Hold extended conversations on familiar and some unfamiliar topics
  • Understand the main points of clear speech and standard written text
  • Express and support opinions, and respond to differing views
  • Handle travel, work, and social situations comfortably
  • Write structured texts — descriptions, stories, formal messages
  • Use subjunctive mood, conditional, and complex sentence structures
B2: DELE B2 — Upper Intermediate

Eligibility: Completion of B1 or demonstrated equivalent proficiency

Duration: 150 hours

Overview:

DELE B2 is the gateway to professional and academic use of Spanish. At this level, you interact with native speakers with genuine fluency, understand complex texts, and express yourself clearly and spontaneously across a wide range of topics.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand complex texts on concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in your field
  • Communicate spontaneously and fluently with native speakers without strain
  • Produce clear, well-structured text on a wide range of subjects
  • Argue a case, present nuanced viewpoints, and write formal reports and essays
  • Understand most films, news broadcasts, and literature in standard Spanish
  • Prepared for DELE B2 certification, recognised for Spanish universities and work visas
