Overview:

DELF A1 is the discovery stage: your first real steps into French. You will learn to communicate in simple, familiar, everyday situations and build a genuine foundation in the language with 1000 vocabulary words.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Greet people, introduce yourself, and talk about your family, job, and daily life
  • Ask and answer basic questions; understand simple spoken and written French
  • Handle numbers, dates, time, and the alphabet
  • Order food, shop, give and follow basic directions
  • Talk about the weather and hobbies and make simple suggestions
  • Use present, near future, and simple past tense correctly

A2: DELF A2 — Elementary

Eligibility: Completion of A1 or demonstrated equivalent proficiency

Duration: 60-80 hours

Overview:

At A2, you become a social communicator. You can handle routine tasks, describe your world, and exchange information on everyday topics with growing ease and accuracy.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand common expressions related to family, work, shopping, and your surroundings
  • Communicate in routine exchanges and describe your background and environment
  • Talk about past events, future plans, and personal goals
  • Write short messages, informal letters, and simple descriptions
  • Express opinions, give advice, and describe problems and solutions
  • Handle more complex grammar including the conditional and subjunctive (introduction)

B1: DELF B1 — Intermediate

Eligibility: Completion of A2 or demonstrated equivalent proficiency

Duration: 100-120 hours

Overview:

B1 is where you become an independent French speaker. You can hold conversations, defend opinions, navigate daily life in a French-speaking country, and produce clear written text on a variety of topics—including for immigration applications and professional purposes.

  • Understand the main points of standard conversations and texts on familiar topics
  • Handle most real-life situations that arise while travelling or living in a French-speaking country
  • Express and support opinions; discuss culture, environment, and current affairs
